My thought process was to do something kind of fun and playful with a home made kind of vibe to it. My process was to first capture the shots I needed, Then polished them up and cut them apart to put them back together again! I had fun with this process especially putting on the finishing touches at the end to make the subject matter pop.

My thought process for these exercises was to create a kind of short story that your imagination could run wild with. My process for these was a lot of testing stuff out to see if it would work the way I wanted. I feel pretty good about my first try doing this in photo shop, however I had difficulty loading the 'Day in the life of' video. Not sure what went wrong but it was originally much longer.

I was inspired by the word Phantasmagoria and one of its meanings being an old theatrical style. So, with this piece, I really wanted to tell a story and have it intrigue the viewer’s imagination. For this I first wanted to have an ambiguous background. I feel that the lighting was also key for this photo because it gives an air of mystery about the subject’s intentions. Going back to the lighting, I wanted the female model’s face to be shrouded in shadow to add to the mystery. I also added a theatric element by choosing a large physical gesture for the female model. The faces for the spiders gave me the most trouble with the lighting. I did not want them to be as dark as the center model so the facial expressions could be seen. It was difficult to get the lighting just right. I had the most fun placing the broken televisions randomly in the background which adds to the visual story. Overall, I think this piece turn out great and very funny. I also really enjoyed going out and scouting for shooting locations in the woods.

My thought process for these were to create something fun and playful with the prompts. My design process was a bit more tricky though. I had trouble finding good photos for this project. I feel like I could have Improved even further with more practice.

Childs Play, 72ppi, Adobe Illustrator
Cactus, 72ppi, Adobe Illustrator
My thought process for these was to make them visually interesting and poppy by using as many different textures and setting as I could. I did not necessarily want them to look realistic but rather wanted to make the textures pop out as much as I could. This assignment was rather difficult for me and I struggled quite a bit. I know there is room for improvement, but I think I will have more control the more I practice.
For this piece I chose the word 'magical'. My thought process was to research the colors associated with this word and think about the concept in an open mind. My design process started off simply by choosing some simple shapes in an eye catching flow, kind of like what we think magic might look like in our imaginations. I feel pretty good about the outcome of this project and how it represents my chosen word. After doing my research and applying my own color theory to this piece, I feel pretty confident in my choices.
So my main thought process for the dia de los Muertos picture was that I wanted to do something visually interesting that would keep the eye moving around the page. Unfortunately I ran out of time and was not able to color this one due to technical difficulties! My thought process on the monogram was to produce something kind of catchy but legible and clean looking. The design process for the face was a bit tricky since I wanted a certain drawn look to it, so it was a bit tedious, but fun! My design process on the monogram I feel is pretty straight forward. This one was fairly simple to block out colored areas due to the simplistic design. I feel like I may have bitten off more than I could chew, so to speak. I think I picked out a fairly complicated design to learn with for my first attempt. I am certain that I could have put a better finish on it if I had not had to restart a few times! Overall I feel mostly satisfied with the results because of the time and effort I put in.
